  • Sakura Matsuri at Brooklyn’s Botanical Gardens

    DATE: May 2nd and 3rd
    TIME: TBA
CITY: Brooklyn, where a tree grows.
BUT AREN’T YOU A COMEDIAN: A comedian who celebrates all things Japanese.
CAN I GET A LINK: Can you ever. Click here to learn more.

For nearly three decades, the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens have celebrated the yearly blossoming of their Japanese Sakura trees. This year, they’re upping the ante of all things Japanese with a Cosplay demonstration, a performance from Uncle Yo, and that’s just the beginning.

This is my first open-to-the public performance at a non-convention setting, so bring a friend, your kimono and your love of Japanese culture…before I tear all three of them a new one.

  • Yo Interviewed by Backstage Magazine

Actors, directors and prospective performers all of the nation turn to Backstage Magazine for updates, reviews, and networking. Their newest issue from Thursday, March 12th, features an article by Sarah Kuhn that interviews Uncle Yo, theater company Vampire Cowboy, and Star Trekkin’.

You can read it right here.

The article explores the very specific niche of being a geek-oriented performer, and the many venues and opportunities we have to connect to plans. It’s an excellent beginning to the upcoming golden age of geekery. Ironman and The Dark Knight where just the beginning. This is my first interview in a nationally-published magazine, and I am very proud to have it replace the Naruto wall-scroll.

Just a quick reminder that my latest show is tomorrow at the Polytechnical Institute of Brooklyn for Spring Festival, off the Jay Street Subway exit. More info at their website.

It’s a lot cheaper than Broadway, and we’ve got almost a year before next year’s Comic Con…
